When 2nd feels like winning a championship

This team had something special. Just the right mix of the right people with the right attitude, who were ready to put in the right amount of effort and commitment to create something really special.

We were in the professional division up against big city teams that had been training together as pro’s for years… and in wanders our little Gold Coast team, most of whom had barely competed before, let alone all together.

So yes, 2nd felt absolutely epic in this division, and we are proud as punch to have achieved such a great goal in only our first year together

Next year we’ll be back, bigger and better, you can be sure of that.

But in the meantime, a huge shout out to all the fantastic people in this team: Lee Jenkins & Catalina Verjan, Dani Ruibal & Chloe Rechichi, Daniel Driver & Naomi Blissett and Doug Melrose – you were all complete troopers in rehearsals, absolute legends and great friends outside of rehearsals, and such an absolute pleasure to work with that we almost always ran over schedule

And a big thank you and congratulations to choreographers and coaches Kristi Hall & Kristian Stephan-Martin who put together such a strong and creative routine that was able to stand up in such a competitive division

Team Elite Bachata Project was officially a great success and it’s all because of these fine people – congratulations team!
