Your first dance, your way

Wedding Dance Lessons

Private wedding dance lessons on the Gold Coast for complete beginners, confident movers and everyone in between. We build your first dance around your song, your personalities, your outfits, your venue and the moment you want to create.

No dance experience needed

A first dance you can enjoy.

You do not need to arrive knowing how to dance. Our Gold Coast wedding dance lessons start at your level and build something that suits your personalities, venue, outfits and music - without forcing you into choreography that feels unnatural.

Lessons can focus on simple confidence and connection, a polished routine, entrances and exits, dips or highlights, or a complete choreographed first dance. We also plan around practical wedding-day details such as long dresses, trains, hoop skirts, floor size and how you want to enter and finish.

The Wedding Dance Made Easy method.

Elite Latin Dance Co. developed the Wedding Dance Made Easy method to take the stress out of learning a first dance. Instead of squeezing every couple into the same choreography, we work backwards from your real wedding: your song, your experience, how much time you have, what you’ll be wearing and how you actually want to feel when everyone is watching.

For couples who want a wedding-specific resource beyond Elite, our sister site Wedding Dance Made Easy covers private lessons, intensive bootcamps and dedicated first-dance guidance.

Real couples. Real wedding dances.

From “we can’t dance” to ready for the floor.

Every couple arrives with a different song, timeline and starting point. These real wedding dance case studies show how we adapt private coaching and choreography to the people in front of us - from six-lesson routines to a three-hour bootcamp.

Liam & Maathangi

Liam had never danced before in his life. Maathangi had experience with traditional dancing, but preparing a choreographed wedding first dance was an entirely new challenge for her too. In only six private lessons they had a polished dance prepared and ready for their dream wedding.

“Despite our inexperience, Kristi made us feel very comfortable from the very beginning. We had such a great time learning our dance.”Maathangi

Juan & Alessia

Neither Juan nor Alessia had danced before, but Alessia knew her husband-to-be had Salsa in his blood. She felt the pressure to make their first dance a moment both they and their guests would remember, so we created a routine that felt personal rather than generic.

Alessia also rehearsed in a long dress similar in style to her wedding dress. That gave her time to become comfortable moving in the extra fabric and helped us identify anything that could create a wardrobe problem before the big day.

“Kristi created a beautiful routine for us that added the perfect personal touch to our special day and made it a memory to last forever.”Alessia

Chris & Tamara

Chris and Tamara wanted something a little quirky, unique and, most importantly, fun. Neither had danced before, so the goal was never to make them look like professional dancers - it was to build a routine that suited them and gave their wedding guests a moment they would remember.

They achieved their routine in only five lessons. Tamara wore her reception dress for the final two lessons so we could test the choreography properly and make sure the movement, turns and spacing worked with what she would actually wear on the night.

Jake & Julia

Jake and Julia attended one of our three-hour Wedding Dance Made Easy Bootcamps - an intensive option designed for couples who are time-poor or working to a tighter budget. During the session we practise with each couple’s chosen song and work through practical wedding-day considerations as well as the dance itself.

Julia had chosen a traditional ball gown with a hoop skirt. We were able to discuss which movements could become risky with that silhouette and prepare both Julia and Jake to manage their spacing, turns and partner position around the dress.

Ashveen & Graciela

In early 2021, Ashveen and Graciela came to us with no dance experience and, in their own words, “two left feet”. They wanted a specifically Bachata-style first dance to Señorita to honour Graciela’s heritage. Across ten private lessons we built the dance from the ground up until they could enjoy performing it confidently on their wedding day.

Gilles & Justynne

Gilles first came to Elite for private Salsa and Bachata coaching in 2019, wanting to improve his technique and feel more confident social dancing. He later met his future wife, Justynne, through the dance community - and when it was time to prepare for their wedding, private lessons became part of the story again.

Their first dance shows why wedding coaching does not need to exist in isolation: the timing, connection and confidence built through social dance training can become the foundation for a wedding routine that feels genuinely comfortable together.

02

Build your dance

We create movement at the right difficulty for you, then refine timing, connection, confidence and presentation.

03

Rehearse the real details

We polish transitions and can account for your dress, shoes, venue space, entrance and ending so there are fewer surprises on the day.

Your wedding rehearsal space

A PRIVATE STUDIO IN MOLENDINAR.

Wedding dance lessons take place in our dedicated private studio in Molendinar on the Gold Coast - a quiet, focused space with timber flooring, mirrors and room for the two of you to practise your first dance away from the distractions of a busy group class.

As your wedding approaches, the private setting also gives us room to rehearse the practical details: entrances and exits, turns, dips and highlights, plus how your choreography works with your wedding shoes and the movement of a long dress, train or practice skirt.

Full arrival details are provided with your booking confirmation.

Before your first lesson

Wedding dance FAQs.

Do we need dance experience?

No. Many of our Gold Coast wedding couples begin with no previous dance experience. We choose movement that suits your ability and the amount of practice time you realistically have.

How many lessons will we need?

It depends on the complexity you want, your starting point and how much you practise. Some couples create a memorable routine in five or six lessons; others choose a longer program for more choreography and polish.

Should we practise in wedding shoes or clothing?

Yes, once the dance is taking shape. We often recommend rehearsing in similar shoes and, where practical, a dress or skirt with comparable length and movement so we can identify restrictions before the wedding.

Where are private wedding lessons held?

Private lessons are available at our dedicated studio in Molendinar on the Gold Coast. Booking details are supplied when you choose your lesson time.
