What do you want to dance?

Every style has its own personality. Start with the music and movement that draws you in - you can always explore more as your confidence grows.

Not sure where to start?

Choose by the feeling.

You do not need to know the technical differences before your first class. These are simple starting points - the best style is usually the one whose music makes you want to move.

01

I want energy + social partnerwork

Salsa is lively, rhythmic and made for dancing with people.

02

I want connection + musicality

Bachata blends accessible foundations with expressive partner movement.

03

I want smooth + grounded

Urban Kiz has a modern feel with controlled movement and close musical connection.

04

I want sharp + playful

Cha Cha brings crisp timing, character and classic Latin rhythm.

05

I want solo confidence + attitude

Reggaeton is high-energy movement, body control and unapologetic fun.

More than choreography

Built for the dance floor.

Elite's Latin dance training is designed to help adults learn to freestyle with confidence - not just memorise a combination and repeat it back in class. We teach you how rhythm, musicality, partner connection and lead-and-follow actually work, so you can hear a song, take someone's hand and dance without needing a routine.

That is what we mean by social dancing: being able to dance naturally with friends, strangers and partners alike at Latin parties, social nights and events. You learn how to adapt to different people, respond to the music in the moment, join the dance floor and actually use the skills you've learned to socialise, have fun and connect with other people.

In an increasingly digital world, genuine face-to-face connection can be surprisingly hard to find. Salsa and Bachata give adults a reason to put the phone away, share a real experience, meet people and become part of a community - with dancing as the common language.

Good to know

Latin dance FAQs.

Which Latin dance style is best for beginners?

Salsa and Bachata are both popular starting points. The best fit depends on the music and movement you enjoy, and complete beginners can build the foundations through Elite's beginner pathway.

Do I need to choose only one dance style?

No. Many social dancers learn more than one style. Starting with one can make the first few weeks simpler, then you can add other styles as your timing and partnerwork become more comfortable.

Do I need a partner to learn Salsa or Bachata?

No. Elite's group-class approach is built around social dancing, so students can attend without bringing a partner and learn to dance with different people.

Where does Elite teach Latin dance?
