In April 2024, Elite Latin Dance Co. brought back Social Sundaze, one of our Gold Coast Latin dance social events, for a Sunday afternoon of dancing and community.
The event returned on Sunday 14 April after the response to earlier Social Sundaze parties. It was another opportunity for dancers to get out of class mode, enjoy their dancing socially and spend time with the wider Elite community.
Why social dancing matters
Latin dance classes give students a place to learn patterns, technique, timing and connection. Social events provide a different kind of practice: dancers have to respond to different partners, different songs and the unpredictability of a real dance floor.
That is one reason social dancing has always been an important part of the experience around Salsa and Bachata. It gives students somewhere to use what they have learned while meeting other dancers and becoming more comfortable on the floor.
Dance, connect and belong
For Elite Latin Dance Co., social events have also been about community. The friendships built around Latin dancing can be just as memorable as the steps themselves, and events such as Social Sundaze created another way for Gold Coast dancers to connect outside regular lessons.
This particular Social Sundaze event took place in April 2024. The original ticket link has been removed from this archived article so visitors are not directed to an expired event listing.
