Our story

MORE THAN DANCE.
A PLACE TO BELONG.

Elite Latin Dance Co. was created on the Gold Coast to give adults somewhere to belong through dance. You can come alone, start as a complete beginner and learn in a community where meeting people, laughing through the learning process and enjoying the social dance floor matter just as much as getting the steps right.

Since 2022, Elite has welcomed beginners, social dancers and experienced dancers from across the Gold Coast. We primarily teach Salsa and Bachata, alongside Urban Kiz, Reggaeton and Cha Cha. Wherever you begin, our focus is clear teaching, strong foundations and helping you build the confidence to hear a song, take someone’s hand and freestyle with friends, partners and people you have only just met.

No partner is required. Partner rotation is part of our group-class approach, so coming by yourself is completely normal.

Classes give you the skills. Social dancing is where you use them: freestyling to the music with different people at Latin parties, events and nights out instead of relying on a memorised routine.

We live in a world where it is possible to be connected all day and still spend surprisingly little time connecting with people face-to-face. Salsa and Bachata offer something different: music, movement, eye contact, touch, laughter and a reason to be fully present with another person for the length of a song.

You do not need to arrive with a partner or an established friendship group. Learning to social dance gives you a shared language. As your confidence grows, you can walk into a Latin party, ask someone to dance and create something together in real time - even if you have never met before.

That is the kind of connection Elite is built around. The dancing matters. The people you meet through it can matter even more.

BUILT BY A FAMILY
THAT LOVES TO DANCE.

Dance is part of our own story too. We met in a dance class in late 2019 and have now been together for 7 years. Today we’re parents to two children and lead Elite Latin Dance Co. together - a Gold Coast dance community built around the same kind of real-world connection that brought us together in the first place.

Kristi brings decades of dance training, international teaching and competition experience, including a World Championship title in Bachata. Nikolai brings a long coaching background across elite sport and fitness as well as Latin dance. Together, that mix has shaped an approach that values technical detail, practical coaching and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere.

What matters most is what happens beyond a lesson: students finding confidence, making friends, going social dancing and becoming part of a community. For those who want to take dancing further, our coaching experience also supports performances and competition - but that is an option, never the expectation.

Most Elite students dance because it is fun, social and something they look forward to each week. Some choose to challenge themselves through performance or competition. When they do, our world-renowned teaching experience and technical coaching are there to support them. These results are a glimpse of that coaching depth - not a requirement for being part of Elite.

THE DANCE FLOOR
IS JUST THE START.

Social dancing can become much more than a weekly class. Some of our favourite Elite memories are the friendships, nights out and trips that have grown from learning together.

Our team trips capture that side of Elite: shared Airbnbs and flights, workshops with new teachers, social dancing late into the night and plenty of laughs in between. You can arrive on your own and find yourself part of something much bigger.
