What a professional debut. Cat and Chloe placed 2nd in Open Bachata Duet at World Salsa Solo 2024, competing in a strong division featuring some of Australia’s best professional dancers.
The result capped off their first year joining forces for a Bachata duet and turned an ambitious idea into a podium finish on one of the country’s best-known Latin competition floors.
From an idea to a World Salsa Solo podium
Chloe described the routine as something that began with a New Year’s conversation about joining forces with Cat for a Bachata duet. By December, that idea had become a polished competition piece and a silver-medal result.
After the event, Chloe thanked Kristi and Cat for the challenge of the duet and said the experience had unlocked a part of herself she had not realised was there.
Coaching dancers beyond the steps
Competition preparation is about more than choreography. A strong routine needs technique, musicality, clarity, performance, stamina and the confidence to deliver under pressure. That process is also why competition training can create such rapid development in a dancer.
